Nina has been with SSi Artificial Lift for 5 years, working as our Controller in the Calgary Office. She loves spending time outdoors with family, travelling, and reading. Nina’s team describes her as highly dependable, financially astute, eager to learn, exceptionally caring, and is known to never miss a deadline!

We asked Nina a few questions to get to know her more personally, and here is what she had to say:

What does your role at SSi encompass and in what circumstance would I come to you?

I’m the controller for SSi, and responsible for overlooking the accounting and data processing in Canada and the USA. I prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial statements. My team members also come to me for any ERP data processing, and any questions related to manufacturing, accounting, and standard costing.

What is one professional skill you’re currently working on?

Leadership and strategy skills.

What is your go-to productivity trick?

I make a list of what I want to accomplish throughout the day, week, and month. It helps me organize my time and get back on track if an emergency comes my way.

Where is your favourite place in the world and why?

I like the Mediterranean. That region has a beautiful coast. The people are laid back with an inherited sense to live in the moment and enjoy simple things like food, a nice cup of coffee, a glass of wine, and a good conversation.

What are you reading now?

I am currently reading ‘Work Rules’ by Laszlo Bock.

Is there a book that has impacted your life?

‘The Alchemist’ by Paolo Coelho. It’s a short story, almost like a fairy tale. It is about something we all do – “chase our dreams”.

What is your favourite sports team to watch?

I enjoy watching Tennis.

What is your home town, and where do you currently live?

My hometown is Novi Sad, in Serbia. I live in Calgary, AB, now.

What do you enjoy most about working at Tundra?

There is a culture of listening to, and telling good stories. I enjoy that Tundra is ever-changing and evolving. It is never the status quo.

Thank you, Nina, for all that you do!
